- Skilled Nursing - Services and care that can only be performed safely and
correctly by a licensed nurse, either RN or LPN. This includes medication
education, education regarding new diagnosis or procedure, blood draws, IV
administration, medication injections, tube feedings, oxygen monitoring,
dressing changes, wound assessments, and observation of your changing
condition, along with a variety of other skilled services.
- IV Therapy
- Wound Care Management
- Physical Therapy - Services include teaching, and assistance with,
exercises to regain movement and strength in a body area. Training on how to
use special equipment or to do daily activities, such as how to get in and out
of a wheelchair, bathtub, transfer, etc. Treatment of injury or disease by
means of heat, light exercise, and massage.
- Occupational Therapy - Services are provided to help one become able to do
usual daily activities by oneself. This may include new ways to eat, cook, put
on clothes, comb ones hair, and new ways to do other usual daily activities.
- Personal Care Aides - Aide services are provided by state-tested or
certified aides on a part-time or intermittent basis. The aide provides basic
supportive assistance such as assist with bathing, care of hair, skin care,
assistance with selecting clothing and dressing, assistance with toileting,
assist with feeding, range of motion exercises, and, routing transfers.
Medicare only covers this type of services if you are also getting a skilled
service such as nursing or therapy.
- Home Maker Aides - Homemaker aide services may provide assistance with
cleaning household services, meal planning and preparation, assist with
errands, shopping, and sitter type services. Medicare does not cover this type
of service.
